I knew I wanted to study Computer Science when:

I noticed I was easily able to spend hours messing around learning some programming language. I loved to mess around with websites and SQL databases just for fun when I was in middle/high school.

Experience:

I'm currently working as a project manager on a new Android and iOS app for the Academic Integrity Office on campus. In addition, I've had exposure to Javascript in CSE 134B.

My favorite software is:

Google Chrome- without it, I wouldn't be able to learn or play or really anything.

Something that would surprise you about me is:

I work at SeaWorld! I've worked at SeaWorld for 6 years and I currently work in the Training and Development team in Human Resources.

I aspire to be a boat owner in my lifetime.

I noticed that studying it was one of the only things I could get completely lost in.

Experience:

5 years in the US Navy working on server security and infrastructure. Currently focusing on programming for voice-enabled assitants such as Amazon's Alexa.

My favorite software is:

Omnifocus, a personal task manager that uses concepts and techniques described in the book Getting Things Done.

Something that would surprise you about me is:

I've been to the Arctic Circle aboard a US Navy ship.

I knew I wanted to study Computer Science when:

I was in High School and a friend showed me a simple program he made.

Experience:

Worked on a team of five as a front end developer on an Android App for UCSD students that functioned basically as Craigslist where students can put up items for sale.

My favorite software is:

Chrome.

Something that would surprise you about me is:

I grew up in LA... is that surprising?

I have 19 aunts and uncles that are related by blood.

Experience:

I have taken many courses related to UX/UI, including some in the Cognitive Science Department.

I knew I wanted to study Computer Science when:

I knew I liked nice things and needed a job to support that.

Experience:

I have had multiple internships with Northrop Grumman Corporation as well as The Boeing Company developing UI/UX for a full fledged android application.

I also have maintained and utilized JavaScript in a personal website throughout my schooling.

My favorite software is:

High level language compilers, so I don't have to write code in assembly or lower.

Something that would surprise you about me is:

I wish I could be a neckbeard... because that would mean at least I could grow any beard.

I've worked as a dev test engineer in a prior internship at Panasonic Avionics, in which I wrote and ran extensive

Google Play Books. It's convenient that reading progress and highlights sync across devices

I don't like to eat

I realized how the knowledge is instantly applicable to creating something that can impact the world.

Experience:

I Worked on an Android app in a team of 6 that notified other friends of their current location. The app was customizable by the user to identify their friends with personalized notifications.

My favorite software is:

Avid Pro Tools.

Something that would surprise you about me is:

I record music for a job outside of UCSD.
